After Military - 1970-2002
In May of 1970, I exited the USAF and headed back to what I called home, Burlington, Iowa, and returned to the job I left, 4 years earlier, at General Electric Switchgear, to join the Air Force. During that career of 21 years, I progressed from a forklift handler, Assembler, Wireman, Wire Harness Supervisor, Electrical Test and Certification, Test Supervisor, and Engineering Designer. I retired in 1986 and lived on a houseboat for a year, only to get bored and went back to work at a Chemical Company close to Peoria, Illinois, as an Engineering Designer. The chemical company has gone through several name changes but after 15 years, I’m still here and I’ve progressed to Manager of Network Systems at Degussa Goldschmidt Chemical Corporation in Mapleton, Illinois. |
