Stateside - Kingsley Field AFB, Klamath Falls, Oregon
After leaving U-Tapao, I headed back to Travis AFB for 30 days of well deserved leave time. Upon arriving Headquarters, 408th fighter Group (Air Defense Command), Kingsley Field AFB, Klamath Falls, Oregon, I helped start a Drill team we called the “Kingsley Field Memorial Volunteer Drill Team”, and it was made up of select first term Airmen from the Base who excelled in many ways. We toured the Northwest, to include Oregon, California, Washington, etc., performing at many small town celebrations, at half-time for the Air Force Thunderbirds, and on occasion, gave Military Rights at funerals. |
