Westover Air force Base, Holyoke, Massachusetts
I enlisted in the USAF in May of 1966 and was sent to Lackland AFB, Texas for Basic Training. Upon completion of Basic Training, I was assigned to the 814th Combat Defense Squadron (Strategic Air Command) at Westover AFB, Chicopee, near Holyoke, Mass. I worked Security Flight and Nuclear Arms Storage Site until I was assigned to the K-9 Section, OJT, in November of 1966. I handled Sentry Dog Prince (1X63) at Westover AFB. I attended and graduated from AZR 77150 Air Police Prep School at Lackland, Texas in May, 1967, which was designed to prepare Security Police for what they might encounter in Southeast Asia. I transferred to U-Tapao Royal Thai Air Base in Thailand in June of 1967. |
